Consuelo believes that two things make a song work. Drum beats and lyrical beats. Her philosophy is simple, "The drums move your body. The words move your soul." Six years, in pain... I'm losin' my mind, again and again. There's no part of Consuelo's life that she won't write about. "I think you have to write as if nobody you know will ever hear the song. That way you can tell the true story, the way you see it, the way you lived it." She wrote her first song lyrics when she was eleven years old. That was the same year she started singing in the school choir. It was also the year she was told that her voice was too loud.
Consuelo always knew her voice had power, she just didn't realize how much power. Constantly told to keep it down and realizing that it simply wasn't possible, Consuelo finally found two things that would shut her up. Those two things were a blank sheet of paper and a sharpened pencil. However, Consuelo's desire to tell her story starts years earlier. She always knew she was born to perform. At 4 years old, she landed her first commercial and by the age of 6 she had secured a deal with the famed Harry Gold Agency. Consuelo went on to shoot commercials for such clients as Delta Airlines and America Airlines.
Over the next 10 years, Consuelo lived between both Los Angeles and London, all the while keeping busy attending acting workshops, singing in choirs and performing in school and community theaters. It wasn't until Consuelo turned 15 that she began to give in to the power of her voice and sure enough, this time, people listened. While singing in a school play in Los Angeles, she was discovered by famed vocal coaches Ron Andersen and Seth Riggs, who made their name working with the likes of Whitney Houston. Taking Consuelo under their wing, they taught her how to harness that vocal power of hers, mentoring her as a performer.
Desperate to continue her musical journey Consuelo headed off to Italy at 17 years old to study music at La Studio Di Brittanica, financing her schooling by playing and singing in clubs throughout Florence.
